Parliament
Canberra ACT Australia

Over two years ago (whoah) I traveled to Australia. First reason was because I had points that were going to expire and they could get me there. Second was because I was considering moving there for school. Third, it’s Australia.

I stayed with my wonderful friend Len who was kind enough to show me around via road trip. We stopped in Canberra twice. This is my summary of it.

Can(m)-brauh. Turkish food om nom but difficult to find because someone is a poor navigator (hello). So good we left some in our hotel and nearly considered turning back after thirty minutes to get it. The mint was divine. So we went twice. The national portrait gallery was meh. But did inspire Sam’s birthday gift which was a costume drawing of him as a game character with a Tetris gun so hey! Salads are expensive. Watching Jiro Dreams of Sushi on a whim was a good decision.  The fellow who gives tours of the old parliament building knows pretty much everything – particularly about Canada. I still feel guilty for the rest of the group who were Australian but by my presence got a full on comparison to Canada. Apparently Canadians love the queen more and are more British. Also King was the best Prime Minister in Canada – apparently. Can(m)-brauh: waste of good sheep land (I think I heard this about twelve times). Mediocre poached eggs at Tilley’s but fun atmosphere. The took Ron Mueck’s sculpture out of the gallery because it offended people with children – so I left me first ever plee to bring it back – even though I have never seen it. Fellows at post office were baffled by wearing a t-shirt on a 5C day. Seemed to understand after Len simply said ‘Canadian’.

Can(m)-brauh.
