Day 5
Washington to Oregon to Washington
WA + OR

Unrelated to this blog post. I am somewhat addicted to listening to The Piano Guys.

For someone who takes to traveling I become surprisingly lost far too often. By ‘lost’ I really mean an intentional decision to not look at a map. This method has caused me to find myself in some of the absolutely most stunning areas of Alberta’s prairies, side roads of the mountains and almost illegally crossing into the United States (I had the pleasure to share this experience with Amber). There is something so pleasurable about enjoying a drive not for the destination but for the scenery passing by, destination unknown.

That being said I must give all credit to actually being able to write about this (otherwise I’d probably still be wandering somewhere in nowhereville) to my GPS.  I have become to reliant on this piece of technology it has earned itself the name Gerard. Gerard the GPS. As many times as it has got me out of being horribly wandered I must graciously allow it it’s ridiculous miscalculations. For instance when driving from Seattle to Portland I may have taken two too many bridges on it’s account.

Goodbye Washington. Hello Oregon. Goodbye Oregon. Hello Washington. Goodbye Washington. Hello Oregon.

These are images that result from not looking through the viewfinder.
