Moraine Lake & Athabasca Glacier
Alberta

It’s no exaggeration when I say I love driving. Particularly in the mountains. So it was no problem waking up at the crack of 5am to load into the car at the crack of dawn with Sam visiting from Texas to see the early morning sites with the absence of the hordes of tourists. First stop, Moraine Lake. A pristine mountain lake surrounded by the Rockies with an entirely ethereal atmosphere. Next was to drive the length of the Icefields Parkway to Jasper. To fully take in the grandeur I have the pleasure of calling my backyard one has to stop at the expansive Athabasca Glacier.
